Cape Point

Contact Details

A visit to the Cape Point Nature Reserve is something that should definitely make your checklist when staying in the Mother City. Situated at the tip of the world-famous Cape Peninsula, this area offers majestic scenery and an array of activities. A simple drive through the area will allow you to gaze at the ocean and be greeted by the inquisitive Chacma baboon troops that roam the area. See the magnificent local fauna and flora as well as the ragged cliffs that lead to the actual point. Cape Point has paved pathways that lead to a number of lookout points where you can soak up the magnificent views. There are also a number of beaches to visit during your trip, one of the most popular being Diaz Beach. Getting to this hidden gem is not easy, but it is worth the effort. It takes around 20 minutes to get down from the parking area, and a little longer coming back up. The reward is soft white sands and blue waters in a secluded and private setting with scenic beauty as far as the eye can see.

Robben Island

Contact Details

To some Robben Island is merely a land mass poking up out of Table Bay. To others it represents years of incarceration for political crimes. For centuries a place of isolation, banishment and imprisonment, Robben Island is now a UNESCO World Heritage site and a melancholy reminder to South Africans of the long struggle for freedom.
