We chose Barans as the menu seemed to offer more variety than the other restaurants. We first ordered a strawberry milkshake each. I cleary advised the waiter that we would like our milkshakes to be on the thicker side but not too thick so that it can be sipped easily through a straw. When the milkshakes arrived they were presented in wine glasses and were too thick to sip. It was sent back and when it returned it was so runny that it was no longer an ice cream shake but more of a milk drink. Then we ordered our meals- chicken livers which was described on the menu as tasty presented with bread and a smoked chicken and smoked salmon salad. The food took well over 30 minutes to arrive and when it eventually arrived the chicken livers were extremely dry and tasteless and the salads were the worst I have ever seen. Firstly they looked unapertizing and secondly the salad leaves were the cheap salad leaves you can purchase for R5.00 in the supermarket. The springbok salad was oily and the vegetables in the salad were soaked in oil. It was disgusting. The smoked salmon was exactly the same. To add a cherry to the top, they didn't even have proper balsamic vinegar and I would think olive oil as well. when I requested balsamic they said they don't have. The salad dressing we were presented with was normal vinegar and I would think normal oil. I didn't bother checking the oil as i thought this was completely unacceptable. We both lost our apertite and due to this being a day for both of us to relax and spoil ourselves I didn't have the energy to complain about the quality of food we were presented with. I requested the bill and paid. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone especially if you feel like spoiling yourself for a nice meal out. Their prices are completely out of bounds with the quality. This was the worst experience ever!!! What a waste of money. I felt robbed.

They took it back and THE seconde on was Coldplay inzicht. They only said sorry that it was not good. For us it was the last time although it was one of our favoriet restaurants. Just sorry and smiling was not good enough and the manager walked away when we leave the restaurant. To becomea winner is not difficult, to stay à winner is difficult.
