15 On Orange Hotel

15 on Orange Hotel is the latest luxury hotel to grace the expansive hotel culture in central Cape Town. This beautiful hotel is now open to guests and visitors local and international. It sits on the border of the Company’s Gardens, up against the lush greenery of the Gardens and beneath the majestic Table Mountain above. 15 on Orange is the hotel to frequent if you are in with THE right crowd of Cape Town’s social circles.

The small suburb of Gardens has a wealth of historical value and charming beauty. The gardens are considered to be a city oasis of quiet and tranquillity whilst the metropolitan purrs beyond. The area dates back to 1650 and has become a favourite tourist spot for many visitors to the Mother City. 15 on Orange is well located in the capital’s fine legal district. Of course, an elegant bar has been built to accommodate and honour the legal fraternity, The Judges Lounge is open 24 hours a day and stocks over 700 genuine law books, for guests who want to brush up on legal theory.

The building, 15 on Orange is historically significant too. The structure was a synod hall dating back to 1897; it was constructed under the instruction of the then, resident Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church. The property was expanded upon in 1924 and in 1964. In 1997, the Dutch Reformed Church sold the building. Negotiations between the Protea Hotel Group and New City group began a few years ago over converting the site into a luxury hotel in the same league as the stunning Melrose Arch Hotel in Johannesburg.

15 on Orange is owned by African Pride Hotels, a leading African luxury hotel group with properties across the continent, from deluxe lodges to country houses located strategically, to bring international and local guests optimum comfort and opulence. African Pride Hotels have a collection of 16 hotels throughout South Africa, Namibia and Kenya. A thorough understanding of the luxury hotel market in each location has allowed each hotel to offer guests a personalised and memorable experience.
